It's a great feeling to have the opportunity to upgrade gear to better your kit. Always remember, the best gear is the gear you already have! New gear is nice, but truly is needed when you have a clear need for such an upgrade.

The Sony a7Rv is my work horse. Ideal for Portraits, wildlife, landscape, and travel photography. Its 61 megapixels help me capture the best image with the best quality!
Lens
Sony 16-35 GMii
This lens was my first glimpse of what a wide angle lens was capable of, and it's fantastic. This focal length takes you to the place, invites you into the environment. This is a beautiful lens for travel, landscapes, and environmental portraits you may have. I have use this for all the above but it is also great in stadiums and arenas. Capturing unique perspectives of the athletes a pitch, field, or race track.
Bags of Choice
Shimoda 20L
This is my go to everyday camera bag. This bag can not only take a beating from the street of Chicago, or the sandy dunes. But this bag has been through the elements, been through multiple sports events, weddings, and graduations. This is an amazing bag.

The Sony a7v is the newest camera in the bag. Ideal for any photography really, its speed and versatility make this a perfect go to for wildlife and sports photography. The quality is fantastic and its speed makes this the Sony a1ii's little brother! At 33 megapixels. this camera is the perfect for just about any situation.

Wanrd 20L v.4
This bag is used and needed when I need something a bit beefier. When I need more than the basics but not my entire kit, this is what I use. This is an amazing bag as well. Ive had this since the beginning of 2026, is used for sporting events and travel mostly.
Wandered 30L v.4
This is the biggest bag I own. This is used to carry my entire kit when I can't use a roller bag. Not only does it get the job done, but I know everything is protected.
At times I also use my peak design everyday sling bags (6L and 10L), size dependent on the situation. But these were my first go to bags and I still find situations where I need something smaller than a full camera bag.
